Welcome to Hunter Steel Limited, a family-run business with a rich history dating back to the early 1970s. Founded by Managing Director Adrian Hunter, our UK-based company has dedicated over five decades to specializing in surface preparation and protective coating applications for the steel industry.

Since our incorporation as a private limited company in 2010, we have proudly completed more than 24,000 projects, establishing ourselves as a trusted leader in our field. Hunter Steel Ltd specialises in Surface Preparation and Abrasive Blast Cleaning, as well as the application of protective coating systems. We work on a wide range of items, from structural steel-work and large bridge sections to tanks, silos, hoppers, pipework, stillages, and more.

We utilize a variety of abrasive blasting media to meet diverse surface preparation needs, including etching, stripping, and polishing. For example, we frequently perform sweep blasting using glass bead media on galvanized steel-work prior to the application of protective coatings.

Application of Protective Coating Systems

We also regularly carry out paint stripping services, removing thick paints, inks and other chemicals from items such as floor grating and mechanical printing equipment. 

These services are carried out for a variety of industries such as Energy, Utilities, Nuclear, commercial, marine and offshore, transport and infrastructure, ship building, construction Etc.

Some of the many prestigious contracts we have worked on include the London Orbit, The Echo Arena car park, The Chill Factor(Manchester), Liverpool Museum, Connah’s Quay Power Station, Stillages for Honda, Heathrow Terminal 2 and many more. 

We provide these solutions to a range of industries, with some of the services we provide including but not limited to: such as network rail and highways systems, drinking water systems, multi coat epoxy systems, linings, WIMES 4.01, and intumescent work etc and mention the large blast bay.

We operate an open-door policy with both our clients and our paint suppliers, actively encouraging them to inspect their steelwork at any stage of the process. on our computerised system, ensuring full traceability and accountability. Where required, we issue copies of inspection reports, certificates of conformity, and any other relevant documentation, supporting our commitment to quality, compliance,
